I noticed that too! My .net domain renewal was also more than the introductory price. I think they usually give first-year discounts which don't apply to renewals.

It's usually for their most basic plan, and often only for the first year. After that, the renewal price goes up significantly. Read the fine print carefully, especially the renewal terms.
